TABLE MOUNTAIN
The Iconic Tabletop Trail
No visit to Cape Town is complete without experiencing the magic of Table Mountain. If you’re short on time, or not that keen to hike up, the Table Top Trail is your golden ticket.
We take the cable car up (quite a thrill) and set off on a gentle, scenic hike across the famous tabletop, while keeping our eyes peeled for dassies, klipspringers and other wildlife.
This is the mountain in slow motion: sweeping 360° views, carpets of fynbos, hidden corners away from the crowds, and stories that bring this iconic landscape to life. From the western edge with its ocean views and Twelve Apostles, to the quieter eastern side overlooking the Cape Flats and distant Winelands, every step offers a new perspective.
We’ll visit Maclear’s Beacon, the mountain’s highest point (1086m), before looping back along summit trails through the Echo Valley where ancient rock formations, marshes, and mountain plains ("vlaktes") unfold beneath your boots.
It wouldn’t be a Klipspring outing without some Bold Brew (freshly brewed mountain coffee or rooibos) and a taste of local “padkos” (snacks) to enjoy with the view.
When it’s time to descend, we take the cable car down - exhilarated and ready for the next adventure.
